Green Bazaar at TERI

Biome stewarded a rain gauge making workshop at the Green Bazaar organised by The Alternatives on the TERI lawns on March 29, 2014.

Meeting with CGWB

Biome met with CGWB as part of our aquifer mapping study, and the conversation with the official was very interesting.

Meetings with KSPCB

Biome met with KSPCB officials to clarify some points about STPs, zero discharge norms, etc. These meetings took place in March 2014. The answers given by the officials are quite useful for everyone to understand.

RWH Mela on World Water Day

Rainbow Drive visit by water experts

Biome organised a visit of water experts from different organisations to Rainbow Drive layout, which has instituted RWH and water reform measures with Biome’s advice.

Water booklet and videos for Earthian

Biome created a booklet on water for Wipro’s Earthian program for school students, which was well received.

RWH at RVCE

With funding support from KPMG, Biome designed and helped install a rooftop RWH system at Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, Bangalore.

DIY workshop for children at APR

Biome conducted a workshop for the children of Adarsh Palm Retreat on how to make Tippy Taps and rain gauges, followed by a quiz.

RWH at Govt Primary High School, Bijuwara

With funding support from Samyukth Iyer Sequeira, Biome designed and implemented a rooftop RWH system at Govt Primary High School, Bijuwara.

Water quality testing in Mulbagal district

Ashwin, an intern with Biome, tested 270 groundwater samples from villages in Mulbagal district. He also created a spatial map of the villages. The local school children, who suffer from dental fluorosis due to high levels of fluoride in the water, wrote a letter to ‘concerned authorities.’

Biome Trust at IIM Bangalore

Biome was faculty at the EPGP seminar series on ‘Bangalore – Its water problems and solutions’ for IIM students in June 2013.

Biome interacts with CMAK

Biome Trust engaged with the Research Associate of CMAK (City Managers’ Association, Karnataka) and introduced them to all the players in Bengaluru’s water conservation sector.

Biome as incubator of entrepreneurship

Several people working with Biome (water consultants / well diggers) have become independent entrepreneurs, with Biome’s encouragement. 

Water conservation at the MG Road Metro

BMRCL dug recharge wells along the metro tracks and built a sump to store rainwater for watering plants based on Biome’s recommendations.
